Dramatic footage from Manchester emerged on Thursday as a policeman was heard asking people to get away from an armed man outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue . Footage showed the cops eventually neutralise the suspect.
"Everybody else, get back ... he has a bomb, go away," an armed officer was heard shouting in chilling video footage, moments after a violent attack left two people dead and three others critically injured.
The dramatic scene unfolded at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall as worshippers gathered for Yom Kippur , the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
The video, widely circulated online, captured the tense moments as worshippers were evacuated from the synagogue.
Police said the incident began when a car was driven toward people outside the synagogue, followed by reports of a stabbing. A member of the public dialed emergency services, and within minutes, officers opened fire.
BBC shared a photo of the attacker from just outside the perimeter fence of the scene of the attack. The man, in dark clothes, was seen with white objects around his waist. He was later shot dead.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Keir Starmer , cutting short his visit to Copenhagen to chair an emergency meeting in London, condemned the assault. "The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more horrific," he wrote on X, adding that additional police would be deployed to synagogues across the UK.
Dave Rich of the Community Security Trust, which monitors antisemitism , said Yom Kippur traditionally sees synagogues filled with worshippers. "There is always a significant security operation in place between police and the community on all major Jewish festivals," he noted.
