A shocking incident of food contamination has come to light from the Srisailam Devasthanam temple in Andhra Pradesh, as a devotee reportedly discovered a cockroach inside a laddoo prasad.
In a viral post by Telugu Scribe, a devotee named Saraschandra K on Sunday, found a dead cockroach in laddoo prasadam. He complained to the temple executive officer (EO) Srinivasrao about the negligence of temple staff.
In response to the incident Executive Officer Srinivasarao stated that they are reviewing CCTV footage to verify the authenticity of the claim and to check whether any misinformation is being intentionally circulated.
After the claim, temple administration reportedly began the review of distribution process including packaging and and packaging areas as a precautionary measure.
This incident has brought attention to the need for robust cleanliness protocols at religious institutions, especially in offerings that are consumed by thousands of devotees.
