Dallas Stars head coach Pete DeBoer says Stars top defenseman Miro Heiskanen will return for Tuesday Night’s Game 4 of Round 2 of the Western Conference against the Winnipeg Jets , reported Field Level Media.
“He’s the best defenseman in the NHL, in my opinion. Whenever you can insert a guy like that, it’s obviously a huge boost.
As a goalie, just happy to have him back. He makes my life a lot easier. He does so many good things and so many little things that people don’t realize.
I mean, he’s our best player. When you can get your best player back, it’s huge,” shared Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger with NHL.com.

Dallas Stars star defenseman Miro Heiskanen last played in January 2025 against the Vegas Golden Knights
A severe collision occurred between Stars ice hockey defenseman Miro Heiskanen and Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey forward Mark Stone. This collision resulted in a serious knee injury to Heiskanen.
Rotowire shared that the Stars may elect to roll with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen due to Heiskanen’s return, so it’s unclear what type of workload the left-shot blueliner will see in his first game back from a knee injury. The 25-year-old has racked up 16 goals and 45 helpers over 85 career playoff outings.

“We are not going to put him(Miro Heiskanen) out on the ice for 30 minutes in his first game back in 3 months, so we’ll have to be smart about that. The fact that we are in this situation, we’re in without Miro, it’s been exceptional what our group has done,” shared head coach Pete DeBoer with WFAA, Dallas Local News.

Cody Ceci says Miro Heiskanen worked hard when they played in the playoffs
Dallas Stars defenseman Cody Ceci talked about Miro Heiskanen with NHL.com, “It’s a little more difficult as far as pairings go, and some of the forward lines kind of get mixed up a little bit. But our team’s veteran enough that we have all kind of dealt with it before.

And it’s a great way to integrate a guy back into the lineup. Coming back from injury is never easy, but he(Miro Heiskanen)’s been working hard. He’s been working hard when we’ve been playing. He’s ready to go, so hopefully, he’s back for us.”
