NEW DELHI: IndiGo announced on Tuesday that scheduled flights from six airports, including Jammu and Amritsar, will gradually resume operations starting Wednesday.
The airline had previously suspended its flights to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot for Tuesday.
"Scheduled operations to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar & Rajkot will progressively resume from 14 May 2025," IndiGo said in a post on X.
"Each flight is being reinstated with meticulous coordination -- ensuring every journey is seamless, secure and on track," they added.
These six airports are amongst the 32 facilities that resumed civilian operations on Monday, following their temporary closure due to military tensions between India and Pakistan.
Other airlines also said they would resume flights to the cities.
According to a PTI source, Air India plans to gradually restart services to the reopened airports. Air India and SpiceJet have resumed Srinagar flights on Tuesday, whilst Air India Express operated Jammu services.
Air India had earlier said that it will "progressively resume flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot starting Tuesday. Bookings for these sectors are now open."
A SpiceJet representative indicated imminent resumption of flights to other reopened destinations.
Airlines have cancelled numerous flights since May 7. India shut down several airports and parts of air traffic routes in the Delhi and Mumbai regions. The move was taken to keep civilian air traffic safe amid threats from Pakistan targeting cities and civilians.
