Vizianagaram: A 36-year-old man was hacked to death by his neighbour over an affair at Chamalapalle village of S Kota mandal in Vizianagaram district on Wednesday night.
The deceased identified as T Prasad was a native of Chamalapalle and worked as a tent house supplier. According to locals, on Wednesday night Prasad was returning from a pre-wedding celebration when he was attacked by one N Murali, a farmer in the same village, with a sharp weapon.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Prasad has an affair with Murali's wife. Despite several warnings from Murali, Prasad continued his relationship with the former's wife. Police suspect that on Wednesday night, Murali was waiting for Prasad in a hut. Seeing Murali approaching towards him with a sharp weapon, Prasad tried to flee. However, Murali managed to strike Prasad in the neck and chest. Later, he fled from the spot.
Police formed a special team to nab Murali.
