Beaches across the UK have axed one unpopular rule, meaning hundreds more people can enjoy seaside towns across the country. Dogs are now once again allowed on most beaches in the country, as of October 1, following a five-month ban over the summer. During the busy summer season between May 1 and September 30, dogs are not allowed on most beaches to keep them clean and safe for visitors.
Anyone breaking the rules risks fines between £100 and £1,000 as councils seek reduce dog poo on beauty spots and keep children safe. However, this period is now up and holiday resorts from Brighton to Anglesey will once again welcome beachoers with their pets.

Local council websites and signs near the coast are the best ways to check if your local beach is now allowing dogs.
The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) created a top 10 list of Britain's best dog friendly beaches, covering destinations from Cornwall to Northumberland.
Taking the top spot was Par Sands in St Austell, Cornwall, which allows dogs all year round.
The PDSA wrote: "Par Sands is a lovely sandy beach surrounded by sand dunes and even has a little lake/pond! It's ideal for playing and walking with your dog and having a paddle in the sea.
"If you do go walking away from the beach, you might want to keep your dog on the lead in case of wildlife."
Par Sands also received praise on Tripadvisor from people calling it an "amazing" place to bring dogs.
One person wrote: "Lovely clean dog friendly beach, lots of space. Some interesting rocks to explore too. Not far to walk from the car park and flat access."
Another added: "Amazing beach for families with dogs! Can walk on the dunes, play on the sand and go crabbing all at the same place!"
Other beaches with no restrictions for dogs include: Durdle Door in Dorset, Holkham in Norfolk, and Bamburgh Beach in Northumberland.
