Prince Harry touched down in Angola on Tuesday to walk across live minefields in a poignant tribute to his late mother - but his wife Meghan Markle was noticeably absent - and a royal insider has pinpointed the reason. The Duke of Sussex retraced Princess Diana's iconic 1997 visit to promote the work of British demining charity the Halo Trust. However, a source said Meghan was never going to join him, citing serious concerns over her safety.
They explained: "The Duke won't let his wife go to England over security concerns, so there was no chance he'd allow her to go to Angola to walk across landmines." The trip comes as Prince Harry attempts to keep his charity work in the spotlight while interest in the couple's royal feud continues to swirl. The source, speaking to the Daily Mail, also suggested the Duke sees Halo Trust as his "own thing" and wants to keep it that way - with or without Meghan.
