London Bridge station was evacuated due to a police incident. Police swarmed the station following an incident that prompted the evacuation of several platforms. Witnesses reported a large police presence and passengers leaving the station in a hurry. The station has now reopened.
Police halted a train arriving at London Bridge from St Albans following reports of a man behaving suspiciously on the train. A full search was carried out, but no one matching the description was found. Officers then confirmed there was no threat to the public, and CCTV enquiries are ongoing, British Transport Police has said.
Thameslink said: "We are aware that London Bridge station was evacuated for a short period of time. We apologise for any worry caused to customers and confirm that the station has re-opened for safe travel through this station.
"Some trains may be delayed or their calling pattern altered so please check journey planners or station information boards for updated platform and train information."
The British Transport Police said: "Officers called around 6.30pm to man behaving suspiciously on train into London Bridge. Train was stopped while officers carried out full search. No one matching the description found, while officers satisfied there is no risk to public, CCTV enquiries are ongoing."
