Liverpool have reportedly added Victor Osimhen to their list of potential striker signings alongside Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike hit an impasse. With Darwin Nunez's future at Anfield shrouded in doubt, amid interest from Napoli, Liverpool are on high alert for a new goalscorer.
Should the Uruguayan depart, securing a forward replacement remains a prime concern for the Merseyside outfit. Despite splurging in the transfer market recently, Liverpool's prudent financial stance and positive PSR readings over recent seasons suggest they have room to manoeuvre. A raft of forwards are on their radar, including the impressive Eintracht Frankfurt hotshot Ekitike, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
According to Sky Sport Germany, however, Ekitike might have to bide his time for a switch to Merseyside, with Liverpool needing to sanction player sales to muster the cash required.
Frankfurt, likely seeking a hefty £85m, won't let their prized Frenchman leave for cheap, as echoed by chief Markus Krosche's staunch words: "If the price isn't right, then he'll simply stay with us. We don't have to sell Hugo.
"He's one of the most interesting strikers on the European market. Hugo has to decide that. I'm glad we have him. If he decides otherwise, that's our motto: If a player develops faster than us, we let him go."
Liverpool, meanwhile, are eyeing further attacking reinforcements. They're reportedly tracking Newcastle talisman Isak, but a British-record bid would be needed to tempt him away from St James' Park.
Newcastle are looking to thwart this by tabling a lucrative contract for Isak, potentially making him the highest-earning player in their history. Osimhen is perceived as a more cost-effective alternative, according to The Mirror.
Osimhen, despite a loan spell at Galatasaray last season where he notched up 37 goals across all competitions, seems unlikely to stay at Napoli. A £63m release clause is believed to be part of his deal with the Serie A club.

Apart from goal-scoring talent, Liverpool's wishlist includes a new defender. The Merseyside outfit are honing in on Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi and also set to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen.
A potential left-winger could arrive this summer too, though any incoming would likely depend on either Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo leaving.
