The gunman who opened fire on several individuals at an immigration centre in Dallas, Texas, killing one person before turning the weapon on himself, has been identified and pictured for the first time. Joshua Jahn, 29, is alleged to have shot three detainees at the Dallas ICE facility on Wednesday. Authorities confirmed that at least four people were injured and one inmate lost his life in the shooting.
The FBI revealed that bullets discovered near the shooter bore anti-ICE messages. Joseph Rothrock, head of the Texas FBI field office, said: "I could also share with you is that early evidence that we've seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature. Again, this is just the most recent example of this type of attack."
A witness recounted hearing approximately 20 gunshots while waiting for her husband to return from an appointment at the ICE facility. Arianny Sierra was in her car with her nine-year-old son when the gunfire erupted.
"The shots began at around 6:10am. There were like 20 shots in a row," Sierra informed NBC News. "I sheltered myself under the car with my son.", reports The Mirror.

Police subsequently arrived and ushered them inside the ICE facility.
Sierra, who fled violence in her home country to come to the US with her family, expressed relief that her loved ones were safe. "Thank God my family is OK," she sobbed.
Meanwhile, the alleged shooter's mother, speaking to The Independent over the phone through tears, said: "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. But I just can't talk to you now."
The FBI is treating the attack as an "act of targeted violence", according to a statement. In a press conference following the shootings, Senator Ted Cruz issued a stern warning against political violence, stating: "This needs to stop. Violence is wrong. Politically motivated violence is wrong. It was two weeks ago today that we saw a political assassination in Utah that tore the heart out of much of this country."
He continued: "To every politician who is using rhetoric demonising ICE and demonising CBP: stop. Politician demanding that ICE agents be doxed and calling for people to go after their families: stop."
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump didn't mince words when he blamed Democrats for the morning's shooting. He took to Truth Social to share his thoughts on the incident at the ICE field office.
Describing the situation as "despicable", he noted that shell casings from the shooting contained anti-ICE messaging. The US president wrote: "The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the 'WORST of the WORST' Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence," before pointing the finger at the "Deranged Radical Leftists".
