Cut £80 off 'dirt and dust sucking' Shark vacuum with power cordless models can't offer

Those of us who have pets know the struggle of having to constantly clean up hair and mess from furry friends. It can become tiring, especially without a powerful enough vacuum to get everything in one go.

Even for shoppers who don't have pets, it's a common issue that buyers will splurge on vacuums that don't do the job correctly and may leave bits of dust and dirt behind. The Shark Classic Upright Pet Vacuum is now down to £149.99 from £229.99, that's an £80 discount.

This vacuum is said to be one Shark's lightest corded upright models with liftaway technology. This means shoppers can lift the detachable canister away from the floorhead to transform the vacuum into a portable option, ideal for reaching smaller spaces such as sofas, furniture, and stairs.

The vacuum comes with three different attachments, including a pet tool which has been designed with a bristle brush to specifically remove hair from places like rugs, stairs, sofas and curtains. There is also a multi-surface tool to refresh areas and a crevice tool for vacuuming things like skirting boards.

The vacuum has carpet or hard floor modes that adjusts the suction to suit. It also has a stretch hose and an 8-metre power cord, making it an effortless cleaning solution. Potentially a standout feature is its LED headlights which illuminates dust and pet hair, ensuring shoppers get everything sucked up on one clean.

Plus, there's anti-allergen capture seal which grabs 99.9% of dust and traps it inside the vacuum without realising it back into the air.

Looking at alternatives, this Henry PET200 Vacuum Cleaner is now £139.99 and is rival model described as being great for getting rid of pet hairs and odours. It also has a 10-metre cable and dust-free emptying. Another is the Vax Air Stretch Corded Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner for £80 from Argos which is said to be lightweight, high performance and bagless.

The Shark vacuum, however, has been rated a high 4.4 out of 5 stars from over 1000 reviews on their website. One person said: "Our carpets literally look cleaner than before because this definitely has the ability to suck up dust and dirt that sits deeper and the cordless can't get up."

Another said: "From previously owning an older Shark I knew straight out the box this machine was going to perform well, simple to build and packaged to an extremely high standard."

"I really like this vacuum cleaner. It's well designed, easy to use, slips easily from carpet to hard floor use and is light and manoeuvrable" said another user. Not everyone agreed with this, as one person wrote: "Just bought this hoover, all seems ok I am very pleased but one thing really bugs me is the hose comes lose from its clip on that's the only thing that's letting it down."
