The way the SCO conference has infused new energy into India-China and Russia relations has made the US worried that India might drift away from their camp, which is why the US embassy immediately tweeted and called India-US relations important.
The SCO summit was held in Tianjin, China. The eyes of the whole world were on this summit. This meeting was especially taking place amidst the tension arising from the US imposing heavy tariffs on many countries of the world. Now it seems that seeing the growing closeness between India, China and Russia, America's attitude has softened. In fact, at the time when PM Modi was present in Tianjin, China, the US Embassy in New Delhi tweeted about India-US relations.
'A defining relationship for the 21st century'
The US embassy wrote, "The partnership between the United States and India continues to reach new heights. It is a defining relationship for the 21st century. This month, we are highlighting the people, progress, and possibilities that are driving us forward. From innovation and entrepreneurship to defense and bilateral ties, it is the enduring friendship between our two peoples that energizes this journey."
It is noteworthy that America has imposed a 50 percent tariff on India. America has imposed this tariff on India accusing it of buying crude oil from Russia and funding the Ukraine war. However, India has termed it unfair. Also, the Trump administration is constantly defending the imposition of tariff on India. This has worsened the relations between India and America a bit. However, Trump's tariff policy is being opposed in America itself.
China targeted America,
while during the SCO conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping clearly warned America that hegemonism and power politics will not work. Chinese President Xi Jinping said in the SCO, 'We have constantly promoted law enforcement and security cooperation, resolved differences in a proper manner, clearly opposed external interference and maintained peace and stability in the region. We are advocates of inclusiveness and mutual learning among civilizations, and oppose hegemonism and power politics.'
