In the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 auction, young talents from the families of Indian cricket legends Virat Kohli and Virender Sehwag grabbed attention. Virat Kohli’s nephew Aryavir Kohli and Sehwag’s elder son Aryavir Sehwag were among the players bought by teams for their debut season in the league.
Aryavir Kohli, 15, a leg-spinner yet to debut for Delhi’s senior team, was picked by South Delhi Superstars for ₹1 lakh. He trains under Virat’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and will play under captain Ayush Badoni, offering him a crucial platform.
On the other hand, 17-year-old Aryavir Sehwag, a promising batsman for Delhi Under-19, was bought by Central Delhi Kings for ₹8 lakh after an intense bidding war. Meanwhile, Sehwag’s younger son Vedant, an off-spinner, went unsold in the auction.
Among others, Simarjeet Singh was the costliest pick, bought by Central Delhi Kings for ₹39 lakh, followed by Digvesh Rathi (South Delhi Superstars, ₹38 lakh), Nitish Rana (West Delhi Lions, ₹34 lakh), and Prince Yadav (New Delhi Tigers, ₹33 lakh).
