The month of June is bringing many big changes for common people. From June 1, 2025, many rules related to Bank, PF, LPG, Credit Card, Aadhaar and UPI are going to change. These rules can directly affect your daily life and money planning. Let's know what is going to change from June 1:
1. EPFO 3.0 Launch – PF Withdrawal Now Easy
EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) is going to launch its new platform EPFO 3.0. This will make PF withdrawals, KYC updates and claims faster and easier than before. Also, money can be withdrawn from EPF card like ATM.
2. FD interest rates are subject to change
Banks' fixed deposit (FD) interest rates may decrease. Banks may reduce interest rates due to possible reduction in RBI's repo rate. For example, Suryodaya Bank has reduced the interest on 5-year FD from 8.6% to 8%.
3. Changes in Credit Card Rewards and Penalties
From June 1, there will be a change in the rules related to credit cards.
- Auto-debit failure may incur a 2% penalty (ranging from ₹450 to ₹5000).
- Limit of reward points can be fixed.
- Extra charges may apply on fuel and utility bills.
4. Prices of LPG gas cylinders will change
Like every month, there will be a change in LPG cylinder prices on June 1. Cooking gas and commercial cylinders can be expensive or cheap. This will directly affect the cost of your kitchen.
5. ATM transaction charges may increase
Additional charges may increase after the limit of free transactions from ATMs of banks. Those who frequently withdraw cash will have an impact on their pockets.
6. New cut-off time in mutual funds
SEBI has set a new time limit for investing in overnight mutual funds.
- Offline Investment: Till 3 PM
- Online Investment: Till 7 PM
- The investment made after this will be considered for the next day.
7. Last date for free Aadhaar update
Till 14th June 2025, you can make changes like name, address in Aadhaar card for free. After this, you will have to pay ₹25 for online update and ₹50 at the center. So please do the necessary update soon.
8. The name of the actual receiver will now appear in the UPI transaction
Now you will see the actual receiver's bank name while making UPI payments. Edited name or name appearing on QR code will not work. This rule will be applied to all apps by June 30.
9. Banks will be closed for 12 days in June
According to the RBI calendar, there will be a total of 12 bank holidays in June, including Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays and festivals like Bakrid. Dispose of essential banking work on time.
10. Extra charge on utility bill payment by credit card
Some banks may impose extra charges or change the cashback rules for paying utility bills such as electricity, water, etc. with a credit card. This may reduce your rewards.
