Singapore-based global investment firm Lighthouse Canton has secured $40 Mn (INR 354 Cr) in its maiden external funding round led by venture capital (VC) giant Peak XV Partners, with participation from Nextinfinity.
In a statement, Lighthouse Canton said that the capital will be utilised to enhance its tech stack, hire senior-level talent, expand its product capabilities, and pursue growth opportunities in high-potential markets.
“This is a defining milestone for us…. With Peak XV and our strategic partners, we are deepening our capabilities, institutionalising further, and positioning ourselves for the next decade of growth,” said Lighthouse Canton group CEO Shilpi Chowdhary.
Founded in 2014, Lighthouse Canton is a wealth and asset management firm that manages over $5 Bn in assets across Singapore, India, the UAE, and the UK. While its wealth management vertical offers personalised business solutions for high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and family offices, its asset management arm offers institutional-grade strategies across public and private markets.
The investment firm has been an active investor in the Indian startup ecosystem. In September, Lighthouse Canton participated in debt marketplace Recur Club’s $42 Mn financing round. Last year, it also backed Udaan during the B2B marketplace’s INR 300 Cr debt funding round.
It also participated in the debt round of cold-chain logistics provider Celcius Logistics during its INR 250 Cr fundraise in May this year.
The development comes as VCs and PEs continue to accumulate dry powder to back Indian startups. As per Inc42 data, investors launched funds worth over $9 Bn in the first nine months of 2025, surpassing the $8.7 Bn figure of 2024.
This came on the same day as PE firm ChrysCapital announced the final close of its tenth fund, ChrysCapital X, at $2.2 Bn. A week ago, Blume Ventures also announced the first close of its fifth fund at $175 Mn. Besides, the Artha India Ventures and Theia Ventures announced first closes of their respective funds in October.
