Of the total convictions, 68 individuals were awarded the death penalty, while 8,172 were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Another 1,453 received jail terms exceeding 20 years, and 87,465 were sentenced to up to 20 years. The campaign has emphasized decisive action in serious and organized crimes.
In a focused crackdown on notorious criminals, convictions were secured in 272 cases involving the top 10 most-wanted offenders. Of the 395 accused, 29 were sentenced, including 69 individuals identified as mafias. The drive also achieved significant success in cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act which resulted in 17 death sentences and 619 life terms were issued to convicts in these sensitive cases.
