Thunderstorms accompanied with moderate rain and gusty winds are very likely over districts of Pune during the next 3–4 hours. It was issued around 3 hours back.
The short-term nowcast warning comes as the city reels under the effects of consistent heavy rainfall, which has disrupted daily life and raised concerns over waterlogging, traffic snarls, and infrastructure strain.
Meanwhile, SD Sanap, Senior Meteorologist at IMD Pune, confirmed that the city has been placed under an orange alert for the next two days, with forecasts indicating moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
"Following the two days of intense rain, Pune will be under a yellow alert," Sanap added, suggesting a gradual easing of the weather conditions.
