Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a man set his relative's house on fire over a family dispute in Karnataka's Bengaluru on Tuesday, July 1. At the time of the incident, family members were reportedly present inside the house. The accused has been identified as Subramani. The house belongs to Venkataramani and her son Satish, reported NDTV. The entire incident was captured on CCTV installed in the house.
The video of the man setting the relatives' house on fire is doing rounds on social media. A complaint has been filed against the accused. In the CCTV footage, it could be seen that Subramani entered the premises of the house. He then poured petrol on the footwear stand and the window adjacent to the main door before setting it on fire.
As per the NDTV report, there was a financial dispute between the two families dates back to seven to eight years, when Parvati, the relative of the complainant, borrowed Rs 5 lakh from Venkataramani for her daughter's wedding. However, Parvati did not return the money despite repeated requests by Venkataramani.

Recently, Venkataramani met Parvati at a family function, and the matter resurfaced. The matter resurfaced when the complainant asked for the money. It turned into a verbal argument. After this argument, Parvati's family allegedly planned the attack.

Satish's mother called him when she saw the fire in the house. Neighbours rushed to Satish's house and extinguished the blaze. No one was reportedly injured due to the blaze. He fled from the spot after setting the outer part of the house on fire.
An FIR was registered at the Viveknagar police station. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
