Navi Mumbai police has booked one parent of 24 school children for allegedly submitting forged domicile documents for admissions in private schools in Khargar, reported TOI.
Panvel Samiti Block Education Officer, Sitaram Mohite filed an FIR against the 24 parents, Panvel police station officials told TOI. The action comes after verification of documents submitted by the parents.
Police inspector (Crime) Shakir Patel said, "The verification showed that from Feb 2025, the parents had submitted forged rental flat agreements and Aadhaar card copies to get admission to different schools — Ramsheth Thakur Public School, Vibgyor High School and Vishwajyot High School — in Kharghar."
The school conducted verification with government officials and found that the addresses of 24 students to be false. "It was found that they were not residing at the addresses submitted for admission," said a police officer.
The police are investigating to find the real addresses of the 24 parents.
