will not be travelling with West Indies Women on their tour to England to participate in the three-match T20I and ODI series against England Women. Along with her, wicketkeeper-batter, Rashada Williams, will also miss out on the series due to being left out of the limited-overs units.
The couple of changes made by to their group which agonisingly missed out on qualification for the 50-over World Cup were 19-year-old Jahzara Claxton and 20-year-old Realeanna Grimmond. The two are yet to make their debut for the senior side.
Head coach of the West Indian side, Shane Dietz, has called on his players make full utilisation of the tour in terms of re-establishing their claim on world cricket as a 'world-class team with world-class players'.
"Going to England is a fantastic opportunity to play one of the best teams in the world for a long time and to really test our skills and put in practice what we've talked about off the pitch. We brought a good team to England and we're looking forward to putting on a good performance for the crowd over there and all our supporters watching back in the Caribbean. It's going to be an excellent tour for us to re-establish ourselves as a world-class team with world-class players," stated Dietz, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
Miles Bascombe, Cricket West Indies' Director of Cricket, also highlighted the importance of the series.
"This upcoming tour of England offers our women an important opportunity to reassert themselves on the international stage. It's a chance to demonstrate the talent, grit, and character that are synonymous with West Indies cricket," noted Bascombe.
