PM Kisan 20th Installment to Be Released on August 2: Check Eligibility, e-KYC & Payment Status

Over 9.7 crore farmers across India have a reason to cheer. The Central Government has officially announced the date for the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and it's right around the corner. On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the installment from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Within four days of the release, eligible farmers will start receiving ₹2,000 in their bank accounts.

The previous 19th installment was disbursed in February 2025, and now the 20th will bring financial relief to millions of farming families across the nation.

Who Will Receive the 20th Installment?

Not every registered farmer is eligible for the 20th installment. To receive the payment, farmers must meet these essential criteria:

• e-KYC must be completed

• Aadhaar must be linked to land records

• All submitted documents must be correct

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, any discrepancies or incomplete documentation can lead to the installment being withheld. However, once the pending formalities are completed, the withheld payments—along with previous unpaid installments—will be credited to the farmer’s account.

How to Complete e-KYC?

Completing e-KYC is mandatory to receive the PM Kisan benefits. There are three available methods:

OTP-Based e-KYC:
Available via mobile using Aadhaar-linked number.

Biometric e-KYC:
Can be done at your nearest Common Service Center (CSC).

Facial Authentication:
Enabled through UIDAI’s updated system.

Important: If you haven't completed your e-KYC yet, do it immediately to avoid payment delays.

Click on ‘Know Your Status’

Enter your Registration Number or Aadhaar Number

Check your name in the beneficiary list

Also verify whether your e-KYC is marked as completed

What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a government-backed scheme aimed at supporting India’s small and marginal farmers. Eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Installment Schedule:

• April – July

• August – November

• December – March

This ensures financial support throughout the agricultural cycle.

Who is Eligible for the Scheme?

To qualify for PM Kisan, the farmer must:

• Be an Indian citizen

• Own cultivable land

• Be a small or marginal farmer

• Not be an income tax payer

• Not receive a pension of ₹10,000 or more

• Not be an institutional landholder
