Arsenal dressing room sends clear response after last gasp Man City draw

Arsenal stars appear keen to move on despite battling to earn alate point against Manchester City over the weekend. The Gunners looked set to slip to defeat to Pep Guardiola’s men at the Emirates Stadium.

That was untilGabriel Martinelli scored a stunning stoppage-time equaliser to ensure a share of the points. And while Mikel Arteta’s side would potentially be keen to toast what was an unlikely draw, the Arsenal squad appear to be thinking differently.

As per their social media channels, a chunk of the dressing room are already keen to get back on the training pitch and focus on their next game - the North London side set to take on League One side Port Vale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

Taking to Instagram, defender Jurrien Timberwrote: "Battled together, thanks for the support! Work continues."

Meanwhile, forwardsEberechi Ezeand Gabriel Martinelli had similar sentiments. The England man said: "Keep moving forward."

Martinelli - whose goal secured the draw also took to social media to share the squad’s intentions for their forthcoming matches - simply wrote: "We’ll keep fighting."

One other Arsenal star who was active on social media on Sunday was youngsterMax Dowman. The midfielder was not included in the squad for the game, instead having been named in the side for Arsenal’s under-23 side vs Wolves in the Premier League 2 on Saturday.

He became the youngest player to ever score in the division, having found the net with a brilliant solo effort. And he made sure that people saw his goal after sharing it on his story.

Finally, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta also shared an insight into the dressing room, having revealed what contributed to his thinking for the starting XI. Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Spanish coach said: “Well, there are a lot of factors, obviously.

“The first one is their performance level and the emotional state that they are in. That's one.

“After that, it’s what we believe is the best thing in relation to the opponent and the type of game that we predict. And after that, there is as well chemistry and relationships that make each other better and we need to understand it.”

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday evening as they travel to Port Vale, while their next Premier League match pits them against Newcastle United at St James’ Park next Sunday.

They then take on Olympiacos and West Ham United ahead of the second international break of the campaign.
